Comparison review

The Galaxy Tab A (2016) has a global score of 60.4, which is a little bit better than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0's 60.1 general score. The Galaxy Tab A (2016) construction is newer and a little bit lighter than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0's, although it's also somewhat thicker. Both tablets in our current comparison use Android OS, but the Galaxy Tab A (2016) has a more recent 5.1 Lollipop version and Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 has Android 5.0, so it counts with a couple additional features and optimized performance.

The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 counts with a bit more vivid screen than Galaxy Tab A (2016), because although it has a lot lower screen density and a little bit lower resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels, it also counts with a little bit bigger display. The Galaxy Tab A (2016) counts with a little better performance than Galaxy Tab A 8.0, and although they both have 1,5 GB of RAM, the Galaxy Tab A (2016) also has a larger number of cores.

Galaxy Tab A 8.0 has a bigger memory capacity to store more games and applications than Galaxy Tab A (2016), because although it has a slot for an SD memory card that admits 72 GB smaller, it also counts with 16 GB internal memory. Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016) captures much better videos and photos than Galaxy Tab A 8.0. Both of them have the same video frame rates, the same resolution camera in the back and the same (HD) video definition.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 counts with a little longer battery life than Galaxy Tab A (2016), because it has 4200mAh of battery capacity instead of 4000mAh.

Although Galaxy Tab A (2016) is a better device, it is a little more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0. So if you want that extra features, you can buy Galaxy Tab A (2016), otherwise you can save a couple dollars and get the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0, letting go some features and specs.
