Both of these tablets use Android operating system, but Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has 4.4.2 version and Galaxy Tab A (2016) has Android 5.1 Lollipop. Despite of the fact Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is older and a little heavier than the Galaxy Tab A (2016), it's design is still a lot thinner.

The Galaxy Tab S 8.4 features a lot better looking display than Galaxy Tab A (2016), because it has a larger display, a way greater pixels quantity per inch in the display and a much better 2560 x 1600 resolution. Galaxy Tab S 8.4 counts with a lot bigger storage to install applications and games than Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016), because although it has a slot for external memory cards that allows 72 GB smaller, it also counts with more internal memory.
