The Xperia Tablet Z has an overall score of 68.5, which is better than the Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016)'s 60.4 general score. Both tablets in this comparison review include Android OS, but the Xperia Tablet Z has an older 4.4.4 version while Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016) has Android 5.1 Lollipop. Although Xperia Tablet Z is way older and notably heavier than Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016), it's construction is still notably thinner.

Xperia Tablet Z counts with a little bit better processing power than Galaxy Tab A (2016), and although they both have a Quad-Core CPU, the Xperia Tablet Z also has an additional graphics processor and a higher amount of RAM memory. The Xperia Tablet Z counts with a much better display than Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016), because it has a way higher resolution of 1200 x 1920px, a really bigger screen and a just a little better pixels count in each inch of display.

Sony Xperia Tablet Z features a lot bigger storage to store more games and applications than Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016), because although it has an external memory card slot that admits a maximum of 64 GB against 200 GB, it also counts with 32 GB internal memory. The Sony Xperia Tablet Z features a much longer battery duration than Galaxy Tab A (2016), because it has a 50% larger battery capacity.

So if you need that extra features and specs, you can buy Xperia Tablet Z, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and buy the Galaxy Tab A (2016), resigning a couple specs and features.
