Comparison review
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 has an overall score of 62.8, which is a bit better than the Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020)'s 58.6 global score. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 construction is lighter and incredibly thinner than Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020), despite of the fact that it was released 5 years before. These tablets use Android OS (Operating System), but Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 has the older 7.1 Nougat version while Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020) has Android 9.0 Pie.
Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020) has a little sharper screen than Galaxy Tab A 8.0, and although they both have a display with the same size, the Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020) also has a quite better 800 x 1280px resolution and a bit more pixels per inch of screen. Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020) counts with a much greater memory capacity to install games and applications than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0, because it has a SD memory card expansion slot that supports a maximum of 1000 GB and more internal storage capacity.
The Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020) has a bit superior CPU than Galaxy Tab A 8.0, and although they both have a Quad-Core CPU, the Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020) also has more RAM. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 captures much better pictures and videos than Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020), and although they both have the same video frame rates and the same 1280x720 (HD) video resolution, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 also has a lot higher resolution back-facing camera.
The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 features a way better battery duration than Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020).
Although Galaxy Tab A 8.0 is a better device, it costs a lot more than Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020), and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020). If you want to save some dollars, you can buy the Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020), and give up a couple features and specs, but you'll get the most with your budget.
