Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) has a score of 65.7, which is much better than Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020)'s overall score of 58.6. Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) is a way older and a little bit heavier tablet than the Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020), but Samsung managed to build it a little bit thinner anyway. Both tablets in this review have the same Android 9.0 Pie OS (Operating System), so they should provide identical operating system features.

Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020) has a bit better CPU than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017). Both have the same number of cores and 2 GB of RAM memory. The Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020) counts with a little sharper display than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017). They have the same display pixels density, a display of the same size and exactly the same 800 x 1280 resolution.

The Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020) counts with much more storage capacity for apps and games than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017), because it has 32 GB internal memory and a slot for SD memory cards that admits up to 1000 GB.
