The Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 is just a bit better than the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017), having a score of 68.5 against 65.7. These devices work with Android OS (Operating System), but Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 has the older 4.2.2 version and Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) has Android 9.0 Pie. The Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 is a older and just a little heavier tablet than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017), but Amazon was able to build it thinner anyway.

Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 features a slightly bigger storage to store more apps and games than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017), because although it has no SD extension slot, it also counts with 48 GB more internal storage capacity.

The Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 features a better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017), and although they both have 4 CPU cores and 2 GB of RAM memory, the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 also has an extra graphics processing unit.
