Microsoft Surface 3 has a global score of 66.3, which is a bit better than the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017)'s score of 65.7. Even though Microsoft Surface 3 is way older and a lot heavier than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017), it's design is still a little bit thinner. Microsoft Surface 3 features just a little better hardware performance than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017), and although they both have the same number of cores, the Microsoft Surface 3 also has a higher amount of RAM.

The Microsoft Surface 3 counts with a little sharper screen than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017), because it has a way higher resolution of 1920 x 1280 pixels, a really larger display and a just a little better pixel density. The Microsoft Surface 3 has a lot bigger memory capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017), because although it has no SD card slot, it also counts with 128 GB internal storage capacity.

The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) counts with a much better battery duration than Microsoft Surface 3. The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) has a very superior camera than Microsoft Surface 3.
