Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is slightly better than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019), having a general score of 74.5 against 69. Although the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is notably older than the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019), it's design is thinner and somewhat lighter. These devices work with Android OS, but the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has a more recent 4.4.2 version while Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019) has Android 11 version, offering a couple nice extra features and performance improvements.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 features a bit more powerful processing unit than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019), because it has more CPU cores and a larger amount of RAM memory. The Galaxy Tab S 8.4 features a much sharper screen than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019), because it has a bit larger display, a much higher 2560 x 1600 resolution and a lot higher pixel amount per inch of display.

Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019) counts with a lot bigger memory capacity for games and applications than Galaxy Tab S 8.4, and although they both have exactly the same 32 GB internal storage, the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019) also has a SD memory slot that admits up to 512 GB. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019) features a bit better battery duration than Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4, because it has a 4% more battery capacity.
