The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) is slightly better than the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, with a 74.6 score against 67.9. Both devices in this review use Android OS, but Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) has newer 9.0 Pie version and Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has Android 4.4 version, so it gives you a couple nice extra features and increased performance. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) design is way newer, lighter and just a little bit thinner than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9.

Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a little better performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020), although it has 4 lesser cpu cores and lesser RAM. The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 features a way better looking screen than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020), because it has a quite bigger display, a higher resolution of 1600 x 2560 and a better count of pixels per inch in the display.

The Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) features a lot bigger storage capacity for apps and games than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, because although it has only 32 GB internal storage capacity, it also counts with a SD extension slot that admits up to 512 GB.
