The iPad 9.7-inch (2018) has a general score of 77, which is a little bit better than Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020)'s 74.6 general score. IPad 9.7-inch (2018) is an extremely older, a little bit thicker and heavier tablet device than Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020). IPad 9.7-inch (2018) features just a bit better processing power than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020), although it has 4 lesser CPU cores (but faster) and 1 GB lesser RAM.
IPad 9.7-inch (2018) features a little sharper screen than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020), because although it has a bit lower screen pixel density, it also counts with a slightly higher 1536 x 2048 resolution and a larger display. Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) has just a bit better camera than iPad 9.7-inch (2018), and although they both have the same 30 frames per second video frame rate, a back camera with an 8 MP resolution and the same 1920x1080 video resolution, the Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) also has a lot bigger camera aperture to capture better photography in low light environments.

Although iPad 9.7-inch (2018) is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020), and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020). So if you need that extra specs, you can buy iPad 9.7-inch (2018), but if you don't you can save some money and buy the Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020), letting go a couple specifications.
