The Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2019) has a global score of 76.7, which is a little bit better than Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020)'s overall score of 74.6. Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2019)'s body is older, notably heavier and a little thicker than the Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020). Both of these tablets have Android OS (operating system), but the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2019) has 11 version and Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) has Android 9.0 Pie.
The Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2019)'s processor is very similar to the Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) one, both have a Octa-Core processor and the same RAM memory amount. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) counts with a bit sharper screen than Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2019), because although it has a quite smaller display, and they both have an equal resolution of 1200 x 1920 pixels, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) also counts with a little higher pixels density.
Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2019) has a camera that is just as good as the camera in Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020), and although the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2019) has a smaller diafragm aperture which is worse for taking pictures and videos in low-light situations, they both have the same 1920x1080 (Full HD) video definition, the same 30 fps video frame rates and the same resolution camera.
Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2019) has a very superior memory for applications and games than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020), and although they both have a SD card slot that holds up to 512 GB, the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2019) also has 96 GB more internal storage. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2019) features improved battery lifetime than Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020), because it has a 23% bigger battery size.
Although Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2019) is a better device, it is more expensive than the Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020), and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020). If you prefer to save some money, you can get the Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020), giving up a couple features and specs, but you'll get the most out of your budget.
