Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) is slightly better than Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4, with a 74.6 score against 74.5. Both of these tablets use Android OS, but the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) has a more recent 9.0 Pie version while Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has Android 4.4.2 version, so it counts with a couple nice extra features and some performance improvements. Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020)'s body is noticeably newer, but a little bit thicker and just a little bit heavier than Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4.

Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has a much more vibrant display than Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020), and although they both have a same size display, the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 also has a higher 2560 x 1600 resolution and a higher pixel number per inch in the screen. Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) has a much better storage capacity for applications and games than Galaxy Tab S 8.4, and although they both have equal 32 GB internal memory capacity, the Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) also has a SD memory slot that holds up to 512 GB.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) counts with a bit better performance than Galaxy Tab S 8.4. Both have the same number of cores and the same RAM memory amount. The Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) features a bit better battery performance than Galaxy Tab S 8.4, because it has a 5000mAh battery capacity instead of 4900mAh.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) takes much better pictures and videos than Galaxy Tab S 8.4. Both have the same 30 frames per second video frame rate, the same resolution back camera and the same (Full HD) video definition.

Although Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4. So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020), but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and get the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4, resigning some specifications.
