The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has an overall score of 67.9, which is better than the Galaxy Tab A 9.7's overall score of 60.5. Amazon Fire HDX 8.9's body is lighter but a bit thicker than Galaxy Tab A 9.7, and both were only released 6 months apart. Both of these devices use Android OS (operating system), but Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has older 4.4 version and Galaxy Tab A 9.7 has Android 7.1 Nougat.
