Both of these tablets use Android OS (Operating System), but Dell Venue 8 7840 has older 4.4 version and Galaxy Tab A 9.7 has Android 7.1 Nougat. The Dell Venue 8 7840 body is thinner and extremely lighter than Galaxy Tab A 9.7.
