Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T) has an overall score of 65, which is slightly better than Galaxy Tab A 9.7's score of 60.5. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T) is a noticeably older, extremely heavier and a lot thicker device than the Galaxy Tab A 9.7. Both of these tablets include Android OS, but Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T) has the older 4.1 version while Galaxy Tab A 9.7 has Android 7.1 Nougat.

Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T) features a much better display than Galaxy Tab A 9.7, because it has a little larger screen, a bit higher pixel density and a slightly better 800 x 1280 resolution. Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T) has a little bit better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7, because although it has 512 MB lesser RAM and less CPU cores , it also counts with an additional GPU.

The Galaxy Tab A 9.7 has a better memory to store more games and applications than Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T), and although they both have exactly the same internal storage capacity, the Galaxy Tab A 9.7 also has a SD memory slot that admits a maximum of 128 GB. The Galaxy Tab A 9.7 counts with a much better camera than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T), and although they both have the same (HD) video quality and the same video frame rate, the Galaxy Tab A 9.7 also has a much more mega-pixels back-facing camera.

Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T) features better battery performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7, because it has 7000mAh of battery capacity instead of 6000mAh.

Although Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T) is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7. So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (AT&T), otherwise you can save some money and buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7, resigning a couple specs and features.
