Both of these devices have Android operating system, but the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1-inch has 4.2 version while Galaxy Tab A 9.7 has Android 7.1 Nougat. Galaxy Tab 3 10.1-inch's construction is older, just a little thicker and somewhat heavier than Galaxy Tab A 9.7.
