Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has a global score of 74.5, which is a little bit better than the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite's 74.2 score. Both devices we compare here include Android operating system, but the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has newer 4.4.2 version while Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite has Android 11, so it provides a couple additional features. The Galaxy Tab S 8.4 body is lighter and somewhat thinner than the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite, even though it was released 7 years before.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite features a little bit better processing power than Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4. They have 8 CPU cores and 3 GB of RAM memory. Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 features a lot better display than Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite, because although it has a quite smaller display, it also counts with a way higher count of pixels per screen inch and a much better resolution of 2560 x 1600px.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite takes much better videos and photos than Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4. They have the same 1920x1080 (Full HD) video resolution, the same video frame rate and a camera in the back with an 8 megapixels. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite has a lot bigger memory capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Galaxy Tab S 8.4, and although they both have exactly the same internal memory capacity, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite also has a slot for external memory cards that admits a maximum of 1 TB.

Galaxy Tab A7 Lite has just a bit longer battery lifetime than Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4, because it has 5100mAh of battery capacity instead of 4900mAh.

Although Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is a better device, it is a bit more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite. So if you want that extra features, you can buy the Galaxy Tab S 8.4, else you can save some dollars and buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite, resigning some features and specifications.
