Comparison review
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 is slightly better than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch, getting a overall score of 70 against 68.7. Both of these devices come with Android OS (Operating System), but Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 has a more recent 9.0 Pie version and Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch has Android 4.2.2, providing some additional features and performance tweaks. The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 construction is noticeably newer, but much thicker and extremely heavier than Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch.
The Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch has a little better processing power than Galaxy Tab Active 2, because although it has a lower amount of RAM and less and slower CPU cores, it also counts with an extra GPU. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch has a slightly better looking screen than Galaxy Tab Active 2. They have the same resolution of 800 x 1280, a same size screen and the same pixel density.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 shoots a bit better videos and photos than Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch, because it has a lot better (Full HD) video definition and a much more MP back camera. Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch has a bit more storage capacity to store more games and applications than Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2, because although it has a SD extension slot that holds up to 64 GB against 256 GB, it also counts with 32 GB internal memory capacity.
Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch's battery life is just as good as Galaxy Tab Active 2's battery duration.
Although Galaxy Tab Active 2 is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch. So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy the Galaxy Tab Active 2, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and buy the Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch, resigning some features and specs.
