Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 3 is better than Google Nexus 7 (2013), getting a general score of 79 against 70.8. Both tablets in this review use Android operating system, but the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 3 has a more recent 10 version and Google Nexus 7 (2013) has Android 5.0. Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 3's design is newer than the Google Nexus 7 (2013)'s, but it is somewhat thicker and extremely heavier.
Galaxy Tab Active 3 features a little better hardware performance than Google Nexus 7 (2013), because although it has doesn't have an extra graphics co-processor, it also counts with a larger number of faster cores and a larger amount of RAM memory. The Google Nexus 7 (2013) has a more vivid screen than Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 3, because although it has a quite smaller screen, and they both have the same resolution of 1200 x 1920 pixels, the Google Nexus 7 (2013) also counts with a quite greater pixel quantity in each display inch.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 3 counts with a much greater storage capacity to install applications and games than Google Nexus 7 (2013), because it has a SD extension slot that holds up to 1 TB and more internal storage. The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 3 has a much better camera than Google Nexus 7 (2013), because it has a lot better 3840x2160 (4K) video definition and a much higher resolution back camera.
The Galaxy Tab Active 3 features improved battery lifetime than Google Nexus 7 (2013), because it has a 28 percent larger battery size.
Although Galaxy Tab Active 3 is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Google Nexus 7 (2013), and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Google Nexus 7 (2013). If you want to save some money, you can buy Google Nexus 7 (2013), and give up a few specs and features, but you will get the most with your budget.
