Samsung Galaxy Tab Active has a global score of 67, which is much better than the Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020)'s global score of 59.7. Samsung Galaxy Tab Active's design has the same thickness than the Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020), but it's a bit heavier. Both tablets in this review use Android OS (operating system), but Samsung Galaxy Tab Active has an older 4.4 version and Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020) has Android 9.0 Pie.
The Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020) has a bit more powerful CPU than Galaxy Tab Active, because although it has doesn't have an extra graphics co-processor, and they both have a Quad-Core processing unit, the Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020) also counts with a greater amount of RAM memory. The Galaxy Tab Active has a brighter screen than Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020). Both of them have a greater pixels number in each screen inch, a same size screen and exactly the same resolution of 1280 x 800.
The Galaxy Tab Active takes way better photos and videos than Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020), and although they both have the same 1280x720 (HD) video definition and the same video frame rate, the Galaxy Tab Active also has a way higher resolution back-facing camera. The Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020) features a much better memory to store more apps and games than Galaxy Tab Active, because it has more internal storage capacity and an external memory slot that admits up to 1000 GB.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active has a way better battery lifetime than Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020).
Although Galaxy Tab Active is a better device, it costs a lot more than Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020), and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020). So if you need that extra features, you can buy the Galaxy Tab Active, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and get the Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020), letting go some specs and features.
