Both of these devices include the same Android 4.4 operating system, so both should provide you very similar operating system features. Samsung Galaxy Tab Active's design is newer, but heavier and thicker than the LG G Pad 8.3.

LG G Pad 8.3 features a very superior camera than Samsung Galaxy Tab Active, because it has a lot better 1920x1080 (Full HD) video quality and a camera in the back with a way better resolution.
The LG G Pad 8.3 has a bit superior battery lifetime than Samsung Galaxy Tab Active, because it has a 3 percent greater battery size.
Although Galaxy Tab Active is a better device, it is way more expensive than LG G Pad 8.3, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the LG G Pad 8.3. So if you need that extra features, you can buy Galaxy Tab Active, otherwise you can save some money and buy the LG G Pad 8.3, giving up a couple features and specifications.
