Comparison review
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active has an overall score of 67, which is better than the Microsoft Surface RT's 58.4 general score. Samsung Galaxy Tab Active is a much newer and noticeably lighter tablet than Microsoft Surface RT, but it is also a little bit thicker. The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active counts with Android 4.4 OS, and Microsoft Surface RT works with Windows RT OS.
The Microsoft Surface RT counts with a bit faster CPU than Galaxy Tab Active, and although they both have a Quad-Core processing unit, the Microsoft Surface RT also has a larger amount of RAM and a much better 520 MHz GPU. Galaxy Tab Active features a more vivid display than Microsoft Surface RT, because although it has a bit lower resolution of 1280 x 800px and a really smaller display, it also counts with a greater amount of pixels per screen inch.
Microsoft Surface RT has a much greater storage to install applications and games than Samsung Galaxy Tab Active, because although it has no slot for an external memory card, it also counts with more internal storage capacity. Samsung Galaxy Tab Active captures much clearer photographs and videos than Microsoft Surface RT, and although they both have the same 1280x720 (HD) video definition and the same video frame rate, the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active also has a much more megapixels back facing camera.
The Galaxy Tab Active has a much longer battery duration than Microsoft Surface RT.
Although Galaxy Tab Active is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Microsoft Surface RT, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Microsoft Surface RT. If you want to save a few dollars, you can get the Microsoft Surface RT, letting go a few features and specifications, but you'll get the most with your budget.
