Galaxy Tab Active is much better than Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), getting a 67 score against 60.7. The Galaxy Tab Active is a noticeably newer and a little bit thinner device than Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), although it is also heavier. Both tablets in this comparison come with Android operating system, but Galaxy Tab Active has a newer 4.4 version while Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) has Android 4.1, providing you a lot of extra features and better performance.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active features a little bit better display than Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), because it has a little larger screen, a quite better pixels quantity in each display inch and a better resolution of 1280 x 800px. Samsung Galaxy Tab Active has a bit better CPU than Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), because it has a greater number of cores , an additional GPU and a greater amount of RAM memory.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) counts with a greater storage for applications, games, photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy Tab Active, because although it has an external SD slot that supports 32 GB smaller, it also counts with more internal storage capacity. The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active captures a little bit better videos and photos than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), and although they both have the same 30 fps video frame rates and the same video resolution, the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active also has a camera in the back with more mega-pixels.

Although Galaxy Tab Active is a better device, it is way more expensive than Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0). So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy the Galaxy Tab Active, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and buy the Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), letting go some specifications.
