Comparison review
Xperia Tablet Z has an overall score of 68.5, which is a little bit better than Galaxy Tab Active's 67 general score. Both devices in this review use Android OS, but Xperia Tablet Z has the newer 4.4.4 version while Galaxy Tab Active has Android 4.4 version, so it gives you a lot of extra features and some performance improvements. Xperia Tablet Z's design is a lot thinner than the Galaxy Tab Active, but it is noticeably heavier and was released around 20 months before.
The Xperia Tablet Z has a little faster processing unit than Galaxy Tab Active, because although it has a weaker 400 megahertz GPU, and they both have a Quad-Core processing unit, the Xperia Tablet Z also counts with a greater amount of RAM. Sony Xperia Tablet Z has a bit better looking display than Galaxy Tab Active, because it has a lot higher resolution of 1200 x 1920px, a larger screen and a little bit better screen density.
Xperia Tablet Z counts with a much bigger memory capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Galaxy Tab Active, and although they both have a SD card slot that allows up to 64 GB, the Xperia Tablet Z also has more internal storage capacity. Sony Xperia Tablet Z counts with superior battery performance than Galaxy Tab Active, because it has a 35 percent bigger battery capacity.
The Sony Xperia Tablet Z shoots clearer photos and videos than Galaxy Tab Active, because it has a much higher 1920x1080 video quality and a camera in the back with a way higher 8.1 MP resolution.
Although Sony Xperia Tablet Z is a better device, it is way more expensive than Galaxy Tab Active, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Galaxy Tab Active. So if you need that extra features and specs, you can buy Sony Xperia Tablet Z, else you can save a couple dollars and get the Galaxy Tab Active, resigning some features and specifications.
