Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 is better than the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017), getting a general score of 78.5 against 65.7. Although Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 is noticeably older and a lot heavier than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017), it's body is still thinner.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 has a greater hardware performance than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017), and although they both have a Quad-Core CPU, the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 also has an extra GPU and 1 GB more RAM memory. Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 has a way better looking screen than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017), because it has a lot bigger display, a higher number of pixels per screen inch and a way better resolution of 1600 x 2560.
Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 counts with a very superior memory capacity for applications and games than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017), because although it has a slot for an external memory card that allows 192 GB smaller, it also counts with more internal storage. Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) takes much clearer photographs and videos than Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2, although it has lower 30 frames per second video frame rate, they both have a back facing camera with an 8 megapixels and the same video definition.
