Google Nexus 9 is a bit better than Galaxy Tab S 10.5, having a 74.5 score against 74.3. Both of these tablets work with Android OS (operating system), but the Google Nexus 9 has the newer 5.0 version while Galaxy Tab S 10.5 has Android 4.4.2 version, so it offers some additional features. Although the Google Nexus 9 and Galaxy Tab S 10.5 were released only 4 months apart, the Google Nexus 9 construction is somewhat thicker but a little lighter than Galaxy Tab S 10.5.
Google Nexus 9 counts with a little bit better screen than Galaxy Tab S 10.5, although it has a quite smaller screen and a quite lower resolution of 2048 x 1536px, they both have a better pixels number per inch of display. Galaxy Tab S 10.5 features a much greater storage capacity for applications and games than Google Nexus 9, and although they both have exactly the same internal memory, the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 also has a SD card slot that admits up to 128 GB.
Google Nexus 9 has a bit better processor than Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5, because although it has a lower number of cores (although they are faster) and lesser RAM memory, it also counts with a 64-bits processor. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 has just a bit better battery duration than Google Nexus 9, because it has an 18 percent more battery size.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 takes clearer videos and photos than Google Nexus 9. They have the same video frame rates, the same 1920x1080 (Full HD) video resolution and a 8 MP resolution camera in the back.
Although Google Nexus 9 is a better device, it is more expensive than the Galaxy Tab S 10.5, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Galaxy Tab S 10.5. If you are trying to save some dollars, you can buy the Galaxy Tab S 10.5, and give up a few specs and features, but you'll get the most out of your money.
