Both devices in this review have Android OS (operating system), but Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) has 9.0 Pie version and Galaxy Tab S 10.5 has Android 4.4.2, so it provides the user a couple additional features. Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) is a much newer and lighter tablet device than Galaxy Tab S 10.5, but it is also just a little bit thicker.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) counts with a bit better processing unit than Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5. Both of them have the same RAM memory amount and the same number of cores. The Galaxy Tab S 10.5 counts with a more vivid screen than Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020), because it has a higher resolution of 1600 x 2560 pixels, a little bit greater pixel amount per inch in the display and a larger display.

The Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) counts with a better camera than Galaxy Tab S 10.5. Both of them have a back facing camera with an 8 MP, the same 30 fps video frame rate and the same (Full HD) video definition. So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020), else you can save a couple dollars and get the Galaxy Tab S 10.5, giving up some specs and features.
