The Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is better than the Asus MeMO Pad 8, with a 73.3 score against 61.2. Both tablets in this review include Android OS, but Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has 4.4.2 version while Asus MeMO Pad 8 has Android 4.4 version, giving some nice extra features and performance enhancements. The Galaxy Tab S 8.4 design is thinner and just a little bit lighter than the Asus MeMO Pad 8, even when both were only released with a few months difference.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has a brighter screen than Asus MeMO Pad 8, because it has a higher resolution of 2560 x 1600, a better screen density and a little bit larger display. Asus MeMO Pad 8 features a bit more powerful processing unit than Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4, although it has less RAM and an inferior number of cores.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 shoots much clearer videos and photos than Asus MeMO Pad 8, because it has a much better 8 MP resolution back-facing camera and a way higher video quality. Asus MeMO Pad 8 features a better memory capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4, because although it has an external memory card slot that allows a maximum of 64 GB against 128 GB, it also counts with more internal storage capacity.
Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has a way better battery duration than Asus MeMO Pad 8.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 costs a little more money than the Asus MeMO Pad 8, but you can get a better tablet for that extra dollars.
