Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has a general score of 74.5, which is much better than the Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020)'s overall score of 58.6. Despite of the fact that Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is noticeably older than Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020), it's design is notably thinner and lighter. Both devices in this comparison review include Android OS (operating system), but the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has an older 4.4.2 version while Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020) has Android 9.0 Pie.
Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has a much more vibrant screen than Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020), because it has a little bit larger screen, much more pixels per display inch and a much higher 2560 x 1600px resolution. Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 counts with a little bit better performance than Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020), because it has more processing cores (but slower) and 1 GB more RAM.
The Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020) has a very superior memory to install games and applications than Galaxy Tab S 8.4, and although they both have exactly the same 32 GB internal memory, the Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020) also has an external memory card slot that supports up to 1000 GB.
