The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has a general score of 74.5, which is just a bit better than Galaxy Tab A7 Lite's 74.2 overall score. Both tablets in this review include Android OS, but Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has 4.4.2 version while Galaxy Tab A7 Lite has Android 11 version. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is an extremely older tablet device than the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite, but Samsung was able to make it thinner and lighter anyway.
Galaxy Tab S 8.4 features a much sharper display than Galaxy Tab A7 Lite, because although it has a little bit smaller screen, it also counts with a way better display pixels density and a way higher 2560 x 1600 resolution. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite counts with a much greater memory capacity for applications and games than Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4, and although they both have equal internal memory capacity, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite also has a SD card slot that admits up to 1 TB.
The Galaxy Tab A7 Lite features a bit more powerful processor than Galaxy Tab S 8.4. Both have the same number of cores and 3 GB of RAM memory. The Galaxy Tab A7 Lite shoots better photos and videos than Galaxy Tab S 8.4. They have the same video frame rate, a 8 MP resolution back-facing camera and the same 1920x1080 (Full HD) video resolution.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite features just a bit better battery performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4, because it has 5100mAh of battery capacity.
Although Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is a better device, it costs a bit more than the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Galaxy Tab A7 Lite. So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4, but if you don't you can save some dollars and buy the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite, letting go some features and specifications.
