The Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has a general score of 74.5, which is just a bit better than Xperia Z2 Tablet's 69.8 general score. These tablets work with Android OS (operating system), but the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has the older 4.4.2 version while Xperia Z2 Tablet has Android 4.4.4. Even though Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and Xperia Z2 Tablet were released only a couple months apart, Galaxy Tab S 8.4's construction is a lot lighter but a bit thicker than Xperia Z2 Tablet.
Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet has just a little better processing power than Galaxy Tab S 8.4, because although it has a lower number of cores , and they both have a 3 GB RAM, the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet also counts with an additional graphics processing unit. Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 features a better screen than Xperia Z2 Tablet, because although it has a quite smaller display, it also counts with a higher 2560 x 1600 resolution and a much better pixel density.
The Galaxy Tab S 8.4 features a much better memory for applications and games than Xperia Z2 Tablet, because it has a SD card slot that holds a maximum of 128 GB and 32 GB internal storage capacity. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 captures much clearer photos and videos than Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet, although it has a worse 1920x1080 (Full HD) video quality and a lower 8 MP resolution camera in the back.
Xperia Z2 Tablet has improved battery lifetime than Galaxy Tab S 8.4, because it has a 22 percent more battery capacity.
