Comparison review
The Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is just a bit better than Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, having a overall score of 74.5 against 71.3. Both tablets we compare here have Android OS (operating system), but the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has the newer 4.4.2 version and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact has Android 4.4, so it provides you a couple additional features and performance tweaks. Despite being the best in our current comparison, the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 body is a bit thicker and just a bit heavier than Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact.
The Galaxy Tab S 8.4 features a slightly better screen than Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, because it has a higher 2560 x 1600px resolution, a little bit larger display and a greater screen density. The Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact has a bit faster processor than Galaxy Tab S 8.4, because although it has 4 less CPU cores , and they both have the same RAM memory amount, the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact also counts with a graphics co-processor.
Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has a lot bigger memory to store more games and applications than Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, and although they both have a SD extension slot that allows a maximum of 128 GB, the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 also has 32 GB internal storage. The Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and the Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact have very similar cameras, and although the Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact has a more megapixels back facing camera, they both have the same 1920x1080 video resolution and the same video frame rates.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 features just a little better battery lifetime than Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, because it has a 9% more battery capacity.
The Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is not only the best tablets of the ones we compare here, but it's also by far the cheapest one.
