Comparison review

The Galaxy Tab A 9.7 is slightly better than Sony Tablet S, with a global score of 60.5 against 57.5. Both tablets in our current comparison work with Android OS (operating system), but Galaxy Tab A 9.7 has newer 7.1 Nougat version while Sony Tablet S has Android 4.0 version, so it gives a couple nice extra features. Galaxy Tab A 9.7's body is much newer, extremely thinner and lighter than the Sony Tablet S.

The Sony Tablet S counts with a sharper screen than Galaxy Tab A 9.7, because although it has a little bit smaller display, it also counts with a bit higher number of pixels per inch in the display and a slightly better 800 x 1280 resolution. The Sony Tablet S counts with a little bit better storage to install games and applications than Galaxy Tab A 9.7, because although it has a slot for an external memory card that allows up to 32 GB against 128 GB, it also counts with 32 GB internal storage capacity.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 counts with just a bit better hardware performance than Sony Tablet S, because it has more cores and a greater amount of RAM. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 counts with longer battery performance than Sony Tablet S, because it has a 6000mAh battery capacity instead of 5000mAh.

Sony Tablet S has a superior camera than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7. Both have the same video frame rate, a same resolution back camera and the same 1280x720 (HD) video definition.

Despite of being the best tablet in our current comparison, Galaxy Tab A 9.7 is also a lot cheaper.
