The Sony Vaio Tap 11 has a global score of 66, which is slightly better than Microsoft Surface Pro's score of 63.2. The Sony Vaio Tap 11 design is much thinner and lighter than the Microsoft Surface Pro. Both tablets in this comparison work with Windows operating system, but Sony Vaio Tap 11 has the older 8 version while Microsoft Surface Pro has Windows 8 Pro.

The Sony Vaio Tap 11 has a bit more vivid display than Microsoft Surface Pro, because although it has a quite lower screen density, and they both have an equal 1080 x 1920 resolution, the Sony Vaio Tap 11 also counts with a little bit larger screen. The Microsoft Surface Pro has a bit faster processing unit than Sony Vaio Tap 11, and although they both have the same number of cores and 4 GB of RAM memory, the Microsoft Surface Pro also has an additional GPU.

Sony Vaio Tap 11 has a better camera than Microsoft Surface Pro, because it has a way better 8 MP resolution back camera. Microsoft Surface Pro's memory capacity to install applications and games is very similar to the Sony Vaio Tap 11 one, and although the Microsoft Surface Pro has no SD memory slot, they both have exactly the same 128 GB internal storage capacity.

The Sony Vaio Tap 11 features a very superior battery lifetime than Microsoft Surface Pro.

Although Sony Vaio Tap 11 is a better device, it costs more than the Microsoft Surface Pro, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Microsoft Surface Pro. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy Sony Vaio Tap 11, else you can save a couple dollars and get the Microsoft Surface Pro, resigning a couple features and specs.
