Although the Microsoft Surface 3 is a little bit heavier than the Xperia Tablet S, it's extremely thinner and also extremely newer. The Microsoft Surface 3 has Windows 8.1 OS, and Xperia Tablet S has Android 4.1.1 OS.

The Xperia Tablet S has a little better performance than Microsoft Surface 3, because although it has less RAM, it also counts with an additional graphics processing unit and a greater number of cores. Microsoft Surface 3 features just a bit better looking display than Xperia Tablet S, because it has a greater screen density, a little bigger screen and a much higher resolution of 1280 x 1920 pixels.
