Comparison review

Microsoft Surface 2 is a little bit better than the Xperia Tablet S, with a global score of 63.4 against 58.9. Microsoft Surface 2 works with Windows RT 8.1 OS, and Xperia Tablet S has Android 4.1.1 OS. Microsoft Surface 2 is a newer and noticeably thinner tablet than Xperia Tablet S, but it is also heavier.

Microsoft Surface 2 counts with just a bit better processing power than Sony Xperia Tablet S, because although it has doesn't have an additional graphics processing unit, and they both have a Quad-Core processing unit, the Microsoft Surface 2 also counts with a larger amount of RAM. Microsoft Surface 2 counts with a little more vivid screen than Xperia Tablet S, because it has a much better resolution of 1080 x 1920, a little bit bigger display and a greater pixel density.

The Sony Xperia Tablet S counts with a superior storage capacity for apps and games than Microsoft Surface 2. Both have the same 64 GB internal memory. The Microsoft Surface 2 has just a bit better camera than Xperia Tablet S, although it has a way less mega pixels resolution camera. The Microsoft Surface 2 has a battery life that's just as good as the battery lifetime in Xperia Tablet S.

Although Microsoft Surface 2 is a better device, it costs a lot more than Sony Xperia Tablet S, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Sony Xperia Tablet S. So if you need that extra features and specs, you can buy Microsoft Surface 2, but if you don't you can save some money and buy the Sony Xperia Tablet S, giving up some features and specifications.
