Comparison review

Galaxy Tab A (2016) is just a bit better than the Xperia Tablet S, getting a 60.4 score against 58.9. Both tablets in this comparison review include Android operating system, but Galaxy Tab A (2016) has a newer 5.1 Lollipop version and Xperia Tablet S has Android 4.1.1, giving a couple additional features and improved performance. The Galaxy Tab A (2016) is a a lot newer portable tablet, and it's also thinner and notably lighter than the Xperia Tablet S.

The Sony Xperia Tablet S has a bit more powerful processing unit than Galaxy Tab A (2016), because although it has a lower amount of RAM memory, and they both have the same number of cores, the Sony Xperia Tablet S also counts with an extra graphics processor. Galaxy Tab A (2016) counts with a screen that's just as good as the display in Xperia Tablet S, because although the Galaxy Tab A (2016) has a lot smaller screen, and they both have exactly the same resolution of 800 x 1280 pixels, it also counts with a better amount of pixels per display inch.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016) has a better camera than Xperia Tablet S, although it has a back facing camera with a way worse 5 megapixels resolution.
