Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) has an overall score of 65.7, which is much better than Xperia Tablet S's 58.9 general score. The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) body is a lot newer, incredibly thinner and much lighter than Xperia Tablet S. Both of these tablets use Android OS (Operating System), but Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) has a more recent 9.0 Pie version and Xperia Tablet S has Android 4.1.1 version, providing the user a couple nice extra features and performance improvements.

Sony Xperia Tablet S has just a bit better performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017), because although it has a lower amount of RAM memory, and they both have 4 processing cores, the Sony Xperia Tablet S also counts with an additional GPU.
