The Xperia Tablet Z has a score of 68.5, which is slightly better than the Lenovo ThinkPad 8's 64.2 general score. Xperia Tablet Z works with Android 4.4.4 operating system, and Lenovo ThinkPad 8 works with Windows 8.1 operating system. Xperia Tablet Z's design is somewhat heavier but extremely thinner than Lenovo ThinkPad 8.

Sony Xperia Tablet Z and Lenovo ThinkPad 8 count with incredibly similar displays, because although the Lenovo ThinkPad 8 has a quite smaller screen, and they both have the same exact 1920 x 1200px resolution, it also counts with a little higher display pixel density. The Lenovo ThinkPad 8 features much more storage capacity to store more apps and games than Sony Xperia Tablet Z, because although it has no slot for an SD memory card, it also counts with 128 GB internal memory capacity.

The Lenovo ThinkPad 8 features just a little better hardware performance than Xperia Tablet Z, although it has doesn't have an additional graphics processing unit, they both have 4 cpu cores and a 2 GB RAM. Xperia Tablet Z captures a bit better photos and videos than Lenovo ThinkPad 8, and although they both have the same (Full HD) video quality and the same video frame rate, the Xperia Tablet Z also has a back facing camera with a higher resolution.

If you are trying to save some money, you can buy the Lenovo ThinkPad 8, letting go some specs and features, but you'll get the most with your budget.
