Xperia Tablet Z has a score of 68.5, which is just a bit better than LG G Pad 8.3's 65.9 overall score. Both of these tablets use Android operating system, but Xperia Tablet Z has the newer 4.4.4 version and LG G Pad 8.3 has Android 4.4 version, so it gives you some extra features and performance improvements. Although Xperia Tablet Z and LG G Pad 8.3 were released with only a couple months difference, Xperia Tablet Z's construction is way heavier but also somewhat thinner.

Xperia Tablet Z features a bit better processor than LG G Pad 8.3, and although they both have a Quad-Core processor and 2 GB of RAM, the Xperia Tablet Z also has an extra graphics processor. The Xperia Tablet Z counts with superior battery duration than LG G Pad 8.3, because it has a 30 percent greater battery size.
The LG G Pad 8.3 has a superior camera than Xperia Tablet Z, although it has a lot less mega-pixels back camera and a worse video quality.
Although Xperia Tablet Z is a better device, it costs a lot more than LG G Pad 8.3, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the LG G Pad 8.3. So if you need that extra features and specs, you can buy the Xperia Tablet Z, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and get the LG G Pad 8.3, resigning some specifications.
