Xperia Tablet Z is slightly better than the Microsoft Surface Go, having a global score of 68.5 against 66.5. Even though the Xperia Tablet Z is noticeably older than the Microsoft Surface Go, it's design is thinner and a little lighter. Xperia Tablet Z has Android 4.4.4 operating system, and Microsoft Surface Go comes with Windows 10 operating system.

Xperia Tablet Z features just a little better performance than Microsoft Surface Go, because although it has a lower amount of RAM, it also counts with a graphics processor and a greater number of cores (although they are slower). The Sony Xperia Tablet Z has a more vivid display than Microsoft Surface Go, because it has a quite better screen pixel density, a bit bigger display and a slightly better 1200 x 1920 pixels resolution.

Xperia Tablet Z captures a little bit better photographs and videos than Microsoft Surface Go, and although they both have the same 1920x1080 video definition and the same video frame rate, the Xperia Tablet Z also has a back facing camera with more megapixels. The Microsoft Surface Go features a lot bigger storage capacity to store more apps and games than Xperia Tablet Z, because although it has no SD extension slot, it also counts with more internal storage.

The Sony Xperia Tablet Z features a way better battery performance than Microsoft Surface Go.

Although Sony Xperia Tablet Z is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Microsoft Surface Go, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Microsoft Surface Go. So if you want that extra features, you can buy the Sony Xperia Tablet Z, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and buy the Microsoft Surface Go, letting go a couple features and specs.
