Sony Xperia Tablet Z has a score of 68.5, which is a little bit better than the Samsung ATIV Tab 3's score of 65. Sony Xperia Tablet Z works with Android 4.4.4 OS, while Samsung ATIV Tab 3 has Windows 8 OS. The Sony Xperia Tablet Z is a lighter and somewhat thinner tablet than the Samsung ATIV Tab 3, although both were only released 5 months apart.
The Xperia Tablet Z has a little bit better display than Samsung ATIV Tab 3, and although they both have a display of the same size, the Xperia Tablet Z also has a lot higher resolution of 1200 x 1920 and a greater quantity of pixels per inch in the display. Xperia Tablet Z has a bit superior processor than Samsung ATIV Tab 3, and although they both have the same RAM memory amount, the Xperia Tablet Z also has a greater number of cores (but slower) and an additional graphics processor.
The Sony Xperia Tablet Z shoots a lot better photographs and videos than Samsung ATIV Tab 3, and although they both have the same video frame rates and the same (Full HD) video definition, the Sony Xperia Tablet Z also has a back-facing camera with lot more megapixels. The Samsung ATIV Tab 3 features a bit bigger memory for games and applications than Sony Xperia Tablet Z, because although it has no SD card slot, it also counts with 32 GB more internal storage.
Sony Xperia Tablet Z has a superior battery lifetime than Samsung ATIV Tab 3.
Although Xperia Tablet Z is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Samsung ATIV Tab 3, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Samsung ATIV Tab 3. So if you want that extra specs and features, you can buy Xperia Tablet Z, but if you don't you can save some dollars and buy the Samsung ATIV Tab 3, resigning some specifications.
