Xperia Tablet Z is a little bit better than the Samsung Ativ Tab, having a global score of 68.5 against 66.7. Xperia Tablet Z's construction is incredibly thinner and lighter than the Samsung Ativ Tab, even though they were only released 5 months apart. The Xperia Tablet Z has Android 4.4.4 OS, while Samsung Ativ Tab has Windows RT OS.
The Xperia Tablet Z counts with just a little better hardware performance than Samsung Ativ Tab, and although they both have a 400 MHz graphics processor and a 2 GB RAM memory, the Xperia Tablet Z also has a larger number of 1.5 gigahertz cores. Sony Xperia Tablet Z has a more vivid screen than Samsung Ativ Tab, and although they both have a same size display, the Sony Xperia Tablet Z also has a much better resolution of 1200 x 1920 pixels and a better pixels number per screen inch.
The Xperia Tablet Z shoots a little bit better photos and videos than Samsung Ativ Tab, because it has a way higher (Full HD) video definition and a back camera with a way higher resolution. The Samsung Ativ Tab counts with a much bigger memory to install games and applications than Sony Xperia Tablet Z, and although they both have a slot for an SD memory card that supports a maximum of 64 GB, the Samsung Ativ Tab also has more internal memory.
Samsung Ativ Tab counts with a very superior battery duration than Xperia Tablet Z, because it has an 8200mAh battery size against 6000mAh.
Although Xperia Tablet Z is a better device, it is more expensive than Samsung Ativ Tab, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Samsung Ativ Tab. If you prefer to save a few dollars, you can get Samsung Ativ Tab, and give up a few specs and features, but you'll get the most out of your savings.
