Xperia Tablet Z is better than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), getting a score of 68.5 against 60.7. Both tablets in this comparison work with Android OS (Operating System), but the Xperia Tablet Z has the newer 4.4.4 version while Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) has Android 4.1, so it offers lots of additional features and improved performance. The Xperia Tablet Z design is newer and extremely thinner than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0)'s, but it's also way heavier.
The Sony Xperia Tablet Z has a superior processor than Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), because it has more RAM, a greater number of cores and an additional GPU. Sony Xperia Tablet Z captures just a bit better photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), because it has a back facing camera with a much better resolution and a lot better 1920x1080 video definition.
Although Xperia Tablet Z is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0). So if you want that extra features, you can buy the Xperia Tablet Z, but if you don't you can save some dollars and get the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), giving up some features and specs.
