Comparison review

The Sony Xperia Tablet Z is slightly better than the Galaxy Tab A 8.0, having a 68.5 score against 62.8. The Sony Xperia Tablet Z is a noticeably older and extremely heavier tablet device than the Galaxy Tab A 8.0, but Sony could make it a bit thinner anyway. Both tablets in this review use Android OS, but the Sony Xperia Tablet Z has the previous 4.4.4 version and Galaxy Tab A 8.0 has Android 7.1 Nougat version.

The Sony Xperia Tablet Z counts with a bit more powerful processor than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0, and although they both have 4 processing cores, the Sony Xperia Tablet Z also has an extra graphics processor and more RAM. Sony Xperia Tablet Z has a much sharper display than Galaxy Tab A 8.0, because it has a higher screen density, a way higher 1200 x 1920 resolution and a larger display.

The Sony Xperia Tablet Z has a greater memory capacity for games and applications than Galaxy Tab A 8.0, because although it has an external memory card slot that holds up to 64 GB against 128 GB, it also counts with more internal storage capacity. The Sony Xperia Tablet Z has a slightly better camera than Galaxy Tab A 8.0, because it has a way more megapixels back camera and a lot higher (Full HD) video quality.

Xperia Tablet Z features a much better battery lifetime than Galaxy Tab A 8.0, because it has a 6000mAh battery size against 4200mAh.

Although Xperia Tablet Z is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Galaxy Tab A 8.0, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Galaxy Tab A 8.0. If you are trying to save a few dollars, you can get Galaxy Tab A 8.0, letting go a few features and specifications, but you'll get the most out of your money.
