Xperia Tablet Z is much better than the Xperia Tablet S, getting a 68.5 score against 58.9. Even though Xperia Tablet Z and Xperia Tablet S were released only a couple months apart, Xperia Tablet Z is lighter and notably thinner. Both of these tablets come with Android OS (operating system), but Xperia Tablet Z has a newer 4.4.4 version and Xperia Tablet S has Android 4.1.1.
Xperia Tablet Z features a much better screen than Xperia Tablet S, because it has a better pixels density, a quite larger screen and a way better 1200 x 1920 resolution. The Sony Xperia Tablet Z has a little better hardware performance than Xperia Tablet S, because although it has a worse GPU working at 400 megahertz, and they both have a Quad-Core processing unit, the Sony Xperia Tablet Z also counts with a larger amount of RAM.
The Sony Xperia Tablet S counts with a superior storage for applications, games, photos and videos than Sony Xperia Tablet Z, because it has 64 GB internal memory and a SD card slot that admits a maximum of 128 GB. Xperia Tablet Z features a very superior battery performance than Xperia Tablet S. The Sony Xperia Tablet Z shoots much better photos and videos than Sony Xperia Tablet S, because it has a better resolution back camera.
Although Sony Xperia Tablet Z is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Sony Xperia Tablet S, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Sony Xperia Tablet S. So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy the Sony Xperia Tablet Z, else you can save some money and get the Sony Xperia Tablet S, giving up a couple specs and features.
