Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is a bit better than Xperia Tablet Z, having a 73.3 score against 67.2. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 body is newer, incredibly lighter and just a little thinner than the Xperia Tablet Z. These tablets use Android operating system, but Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has a more recent 4.4.2 version while Xperia Tablet Z has Android 4.2.2 version, giving you a couple nice extra features.
The Galaxy Tab S 8.4 features a much better looking display than Xperia Tablet Z, because although it has a little bit smaller display, it also counts with much more pixels per inch of screen and a higher resolution of 2560 x 1600. Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 features just a little better processing power than Sony Xperia Tablet Z, because although it has doesn't have an extra GPU, it also counts with a higher number of cores and a greater amount of RAM memory.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 features a slightly bigger storage capacity to install games and applications than Sony Xperia Tablet Z, and although they both have the same internal storage capacity, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 also has a SD memory card expansion slot that admits up to 128 GB. The Xperia Tablet Z features better battery life than Galaxy Tab S 8.4, because it has 6000mAh of battery capacity.
Galaxy Tab S 8.4 takes much clearer photographs and videos than Sony Xperia Tablet Z, although it has a worse video quality and a worse resolution back facing camera.
Despite of being the best tablet of the ones we are comparing here, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is also by far the cheapest one.
