Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet has an overall score of 69.8, which is a bit better than Samsung ATIV Tab 3's general score of 65. The Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet comes with Android 4.4.4 OS, and Samsung ATIV Tab 3 has Windows 8 OS. The Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet is a thinner and way lighter device than the Samsung ATIV Tab 3, even when they were only released 8 months apart.
The Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet has a sharper display than Samsung ATIV Tab 3, and although they both have a screen of the same size, the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet also has a way better resolution of 1200 x 1920px and a higher pixel density. The Xperia Z2 Tablet has a faster processing unit than Samsung ATIV Tab 3, because it has an extra graphics co-processor, a greater number of cores (and faster) and a greater amount of RAM.
Samsung ATIV Tab 3 has a way bigger memory for games and applications than Xperia Z2 Tablet, because although it has no slot for SD memory cards, it also counts with 64 GB internal storage capacity. Xperia Z2 Tablet has a much longer battery life than Samsung ATIV Tab 3. The Xperia Z2 Tablet captures a lot better photographs and videos than Samsung ATIV Tab 3, and although they both have the same 1920x1080 (Full HD) video resolution and the same video frame rate, the Xperia Z2 Tablet also has a much more mega pixels back camera.
Although Xperia Z2 Tablet is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Samsung ATIV Tab 3, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Samsung ATIV Tab 3. If you prefer to save a few dollars, you can buy Samsung ATIV Tab 3, giving up a few features and specifications, but you'll get the most with your budget.
