Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has a score of 73.3, which is a little bit better than the Xperia Z2 Tablet's global score of 69.8. The Galaxy Tab S 8.4 body is a little bit thicker but much lighter than Xperia Z2 Tablet, and they were only released with a few months difference. Both of these tablets use Android operating system, but the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has the older 4.4.2 version and Xperia Z2 Tablet has Android 4.4.4.
Xperia Z2 Tablet features a little bit better performance than Galaxy Tab S 8.4, because although it has 4 less CPU cores , and they both have a 3 GB RAM memory, the Xperia Z2 Tablet also counts with a graphics co-processor. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 counts with a brighter display than Xperia Z2 Tablet, because although it has a quite smaller screen, it also counts with a much better screen pixels density and a higher resolution of 2560 x 1600px.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has a slightly better memory capacity to store more games and applications than Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet, and although they both have exactly the same internal storage capacity, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 also has a slot for SD memory cards that holds a maximum of 128 GB.
The Xperia Z2 Tablet has superior battery performance than Galaxy Tab S 8.4, because it has a 6000mAh battery capacity instead of 4900mAh. The Galaxy Tab S 8.4 takes better videos and photos than Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet, although it has a back camera with a worse resolution and a worse 1920x1080 (Full HD) video quality.
Despite of being the best tablet of the ones we are comparing here, Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is also a bargain compared to others, which makes it a no doubt choice.
