Comparison review
Sony Tablet S is a bit better than the Toshiba Encore 2 10.1-inch, having a 57.5 score against 55.9. Sony Tablet S counts with Android 4.0 OS, and Toshiba Encore 2 10.1-inch counts with Windows 8.1 OS. Despite being the best in this review, we must highlight that it is also a older, thicker and a bit heavier portable tablet.
The Toshiba Encore 2 10.1-inch has a better hardware performance than Sony Tablet S, and although they both have 1 GB of RAM memory, the Toshiba Encore 2 10.1-inch also has a 64 bits processor and a greater number of cores. Toshiba Encore 2 10.1-inch has just a bit better looking screen than Sony Tablet S, because although it has a just a bit worse pixel density, and they both have exactly the same 1280 x 800 resolution, the Toshiba Encore 2 10.1-inch also counts with a bit bigger display.
The Toshiba Encore 2 10.1-inch has a quite bigger storage to store more apps and games than Sony Tablet S, and although they both have equal internal storage, the Toshiba Encore 2 10.1-inch also has an external SD slot that allows a maximum of 128 GB. Toshiba Encore 2 10.1-inch counts with a slightly better camera than Sony Tablet S, and although they both have a same resolution back-facing camera, the Toshiba Encore 2 10.1-inch also has a much better (Full HD) video definition.
Sony Tablet S has a very superior battery life than Toshiba Encore 2 10.1-inch.
Although Sony Tablet S is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Toshiba Encore 2 10.1-inch, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Toshiba Encore 2 10.1-inch. So if you need that extra features and specs, you can buy Sony Tablet S, otherwise you can save some dollars and buy the Toshiba Encore 2 10.1-inch, giving up a couple specs and features.
